Sky and Trees Tapestry by Janet Sammons. An impressionist style painting of tall trees in autumn when looking up into the sky and upper branches, viewing the lovely mix of greens, golds, oranges and reds of the turning leaves against the various blues of the sky peeking through.
I am inspired by the majesty of the mountains, sky, waterways, trees, birds and creatures of earth, all of which are God�s handiwork. I hope I can convey this spiritual reverence in the joyful colors and form I use to express my love of nature, and in so doing bring a smile or similar joy to those who view my paintings. I prefer to paint in a representational or realist style, but occasionally experiment in a more semi-abstract vein. For the most part, my medium of choice is acrylics for the bold and vivid colors I can achieve, but also because they are very forgiving. Plus they are quick-drying and water-based for easy clean-up.
